Brass Nuts on exhaust and/or intake manifolds?
Hi guys
I am going to be removing my exhaust and either ceramic coating it and replacing it or getting a new Vintage Speed exhaust.
Are brass nuts on the exhaust manifold the way to go? Also, can I use brass nuts on the intake manifolds???

I use Glenloch nuts. Im using the same nuts on my sons bug now that I 1st fitted to my old bug in 1988, they last.
You can get them from any nut & bolt shop

I've used the Glenloch and also brass, and IMHO they're both good options.
Worthwhile getting undersized ones if you can... still an M8 nut obviously, but instead of a 13mm spanner can get ones that use either a 11mm or 10mm
spanner instead.
Can make things just a tad easier on intake manifolds and larger headers.

You can get 8MM brass nuts with a 11 mm hex, i use these on all my exhausts, also you can get the same nut in steel, great on the inlet manifolds, you
can put the manifolds on with a 1/4 drive socket with a long extension.
I also use a high tensile flat washer with a flat ground on one side to spread the load under the nuts.
