Around for a while.... never seemed to introduce myself
Hi Guys and Gals,
My name is Jamie and I have been on the forum for a while now but for some reason or another I never got around to introducing myself.
I live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
I have '62 Delux (thanks Nickster) Beetle (slow rebuild, unreg)
and a '60 11 window bus (rego'd and running).
Needing some bits and pieces for the Beetle over time so I am hoping to use this forum for help and advice
Cheers Jamie

Cheers Ben and thanks for the welcome...
I cruise Palmy to Manly quite often just to keep the charge in the battery...
Hoping to get the Beetle registered before summer, itching to drive it! I am going to start a bit of a build thread in members rides when I can get
some pics together.

I am in the same boat with my Beetle - its been off the road for a while. Not running at the moment and needs some rust work before I take it to get
registered.
I also have Raiders but in the alloy colour. What size rear tyres are you running?
Good luck and I look forward to reading your thread.

I think the Raiders are one of the best rim for VWs, i cant remember the size on the rears... bought them a year ago, think they are 185 or 195/65's.
I am away for work atm, I will check when I get home, but all this info I will include in the build thread.

Welcome aboard Jamie, thanks for showing your rides.
Your bus looks awesome, love the paint job.
Are you sure your Bug is a Standard? Looks like it has Deluxe trim (window seals have trim and the bonnet has trim...)

Hey Jaime.
Any progress on your Beetle?
I just got new tyres on the back and looking at getting it booked in somewhere to get a service and get it running.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Ben...
No work on the Beetle. I have been busy in building retaining walls to make my driveway bigger, Beetle is still out west in an old ladies garage. I
will be going out to it next week to get the chassis number of it so I can order some rubbers and bits and pieces.
HOws your Beelte progressing? Got a build thread/pics???

Hey Jaime,
Yes my thread is here: http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=99573
No big works have been undertaken as of yet. I needed to get new wheels & tyres as the originals were rubbish and all rusted. I still have a few
that were in better nick saved in the garage.
Hoping to have it on the road in the next few months...Next steps are: Service to get it running; fix fuel line and clutch tube; and some rust
work.
Im looking forward to following your progress!
Cheers,
Ben

Yep definetely a deluxe.
You'd know if twas a standard, no chrome, no headliner no interior light, no glovebox lid, no fuel gauge, etc.
I'm surprised VW was kind enough to give them windows.
The round holes above the bumper mounts are for the towel rail deluxe bumpers.

Thats funny cause I quite like yours too Jamie! Only issue is I got
them balanced when I got the rear tyres and they needed a sh*t load of weights...
It must have been one of the prior owners with the roofrack - I still have the one that came with the car.

Long time between posts... though you have to be doing shit to it to post something...
anyways... have been doing a little work to the Beetle now and then when I get the chance, got bumpers and have continued to tidy it up. Had to
relocate it from where it was stored to its new location. Couldnt be bothered with a trailer, or a tow rope, so got it running and drove it
Its given me a new lease of motivation...WATCH THIS SPACE
will put something in the build thread when I down load the pics from my phone...
