New to the Aircooled game (QLD
Hey thought id just introduce myself on here first
My names glynn and ive finally succumbed to purchasing my first beetle
Bit of background Im 22yrs old this is my 16th car so far
Ive owned some pretty cool cars (to my likings anyways, many disagree :P ). Previous car was a 78 Mk1 golf diesel,
an audi a3 1.8t, a rusty mk3 golf i came 2nd at Vw nats a couple years ago, datsun 1200 ute, suzuki jimny just to name a few off the top of my head
Anyways on to the bug
Its a 74 L-Bug, Picked it up off an old bloke who had it in storage for 2 years awaiting to be driven by his 16yr old daughter, Turns out she wanted
an auto SO i picked up the pretty little thing a month or so
Mods so far include
-empi adjustable strut mounts + inserts
-new Exhaust
-009 dizzy
- installed a nice horn (doesnt work now :/ for some reason)
- new brake master cylinders plus stainless lines
Apart from that future plans is a vinyl interior swap, nice basis sound system with splits up front and a slimline sub in a suitcase in the back
If anyone up in brisbane is willing to help a fellow dubber out and lend a hand with some basic things thatd be much appreciated ( lowering rear,tune
up etc)
Anyways hope to meet some people off of here sometime

that is a lot of cars to own.. I'm 64 and haven't owned that many cars.. lol
after buying a used car I used to spend so much time etc to make sure they were in good condition and changed the oil in engine gearbox diff etc..
brake fluid etc etc..

that looks like the same colour my friend in school had on his beetle (well, that was back in germany). Still looks like you have a lot of work to do
on yours! |
