Big thud under the floor

In my daily driver, 1969 beetle. As I accelerate there is a knock that comes thru the floor, no matter how gingerly I let the clutch out or depress the accelerator the noise is there and loud.
So what am I looking at?
Front transmission mount?
Thanks for any responses..

Thanks, for the response.
So does this require engine removal , in order to replace the nose one mount?

yes and no

You can just loosen the bolts on the gearbox brace to move the whole thing back far enough

I was able to change mine this way - but it died in 6months any way

Then I put a Porsch style Berg mid mount on and that fixed the sucker

rear mounts mean engine out as you need to get inside the bell housing

Definately check the front tranny mount. Mine was doing the same. If its worn replace it, or maybe the bolts have loosened and just need tightening.

Check all shift rods also and the coupling under the rear seat
