Wiring?
I've just been putting things back together under the dash (79 cab) when I just noticed that the male wiring plug coming from the column has 6
connections whereas the plug from the loom has only 4 female connections? What would the spare 2 be for? One could be for intermittent (as the wiper
switch has the position for it but obviously nothing happens) but would like confirmation from anyone in the know. BTW this car was converted to RHD
some years ago.

Key buzzer if it is a USA car.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

Sounds like who ever converted it kept the original steering column and switch (79s had standard intermittent) but has used a loom from a donor RHD
Lbug which never had the intermittent option hence the empty slots.

You're probably right Joel, there's also an interesting extra wire coming from the loom, black/green, going nowhere and tagged No.15? Obviously I
haven't needed it before so I'm not going to worry about it.

Could be a US switch as they had 6 wires to allow the brake lights to work as indicators and needs the extra 2 wires.
