Dirt Rat backed into our Beetle

The missus picked the kids up from school yesterday. Got back to the Beetle, and two people come up and tell her they have the rego of the car that backed into the RHF. The bumper is OG thick metal and I have had it triple chrome plated. It now looks like a pretzel and chrome head bolt has pulled through, RHF guard scraped, RHF headlight rim scraped, LHF guard damaged from bar being bent across etc. From witness accounts, the other vehicle driver got out, looked at both cars for a while, then got back in their car and drove off.

So she goes to the Police, makes a report etc, and we have to go through our own insurance, which should not be a problem.

I am just worried if she sees the car with the rego and catches up with the owner, and being a 6th level Muay Thai kickboxer with a few Victorian Allstyles martial arts wins under her belt, and being a Roller Derby chick, along with her temper it may end up ugly.

It's not the elbow to eyebrow cuts I am worried about. It is the multiple chisel punch to throat and elbow ligament tearing techniques she has learnt that could be nasty to the other person if they get physical

Then we have to hope it gets physical, don't we?

Maybe when they are drinking lunch through a straw for the next 6 weeks (ok, if she goes easy on them) they will reflect for a moment on their wrongdoings......

Seriously though, has happened to us before too, if you make enough noise they will have to take action, we even had the cops go to the extent of tracking down and visiting the registered owner of a car who threw a glass bottle out their window, which was promptly run over by my wife's car causing a flat tyre. The cops came by a couple of days later with $20 cash from the other driver to cover the cost of the repair. Plus the reassurance that they had been charged with several different charges.

For what its worth, I hope your wife finds them first:dork:

Well interestinly a lady came up to my wife at the end of school today, and gave her details as the one that hit the car. There was not much discussion, as my Wife had to get out of there, and the other lady could not speak English.

That's great news. Sick your insurance company on the other driver. Trust me, they'll wish your wife had gone 10 rounds with them after the insurance company is finished with them.... ;)

Surprises me how you can legally get a licence if you can't speak or read English well enough to hold a conversation!

When I worked security and one of our clients was the transport department office, I overheard many instances of non english speaking people who recieved more than a little assistance to pass the test - they provide a free interpreter to help answer all the questions (paid for by the taxpayer of course at $120 minimum per usage). Funny how they always passed with flying colours then bunny hop away from there as happy as can be.

Really makes you wonder.......
