Wiper/Indicator stalk connections on 76 beetle
Hi guys
I have pulled out the wiper and indicator stalks on my 76 beetle and have noted that there is a 9 pin and a 4 pin connector.
From my "googling" I was expecting a 6 pin and a 4 pin connector.
Does anybody have a wiring diagram for what the pins are?
Am I correct in that the 9/4 pin configuration is from a 1302/1303??

That 9 pin turn signal switch is a replacement, original aus ones were 6 pin.
New ones are universal so they work with euro cars that have the side marker system hence the extra pins.

Hi Greg, its a system made for those European countries which had really narrow poorly lit laneways.
Bugs, type 3s, KGs etc made for those countries had small side repeater indicators on the front quarter panels like modern cars do.
When you turn the ignition off if you leave the indicator switch in the left or right position the side repeater light on that side will stay lit up
so the car can be seen better if parked in one of these narrow badly lit lanes.
The 3 extra pins is just the contacts in the indicator switch for controlling them.
Many of the imported type 3s in Aus had this function for some reason.

Update.
I went to VVDS and had a chat with Boris and to buy some other parts.
To cut a long story short, he simply said "heat it and bend it"!...and that's what we did!
Fits perfectly.
