Long time lurker, now with bug!
Howdy crew,
I've been lurking on the forums for a while now (great resource of info!). Ive previously owned a couple of early Beetles, mostly light customs. Last
week I got back into the game with a ripper of 64, perfect for the rat I've always wanted to build. It needs a bit of rust repair, the floors and
pretty much gone, but the body is in really good shape with lots of real-deal-natural patina. I haven't tried to start it yet, but engine does spin.
The plan is to spend some solid hours on it getting it rust free, with a quality running gear, neat interior and shabby outer. Slammed of course.
Bit about me; I run a Communal DIY Motorcycle Workshop, Kustom Kommune in
Collingwood. I'm a mad moto-nut and love everything with an engine. I've been building Cafe Racers and Bobbers for a few years and always wanted a
space where others could do the same. I also run Oil Stained Brain, a
Motorcycle Exhibition also now in Collingwood.
This flaked GB was my last build, and I'm currently working on a Sportster:
Planning on starting a blog about the Beetle build, i'll post up some progress on the forums for those that are interested.
Cheers,
Jimmy G.
