First Post 1970 Type 1

Or the no header type

Don't know whether it is crap or not but I have a header type sitting in my shed. Bought it from VW Performance. Been there for a few years. It has
never been fitted and happy to sell for $100 if you are interested. I am in Melbourne
Cheers......Wayne

We might take you up on that... I didn't mention it before but we had bought a header type (Stainless) the other day. Really nice looking header
until you take a closer look. The exhaust tips were at different angles and one of the flanges that bolts it to the head was a mile out... so
packaging it back up now to send back today...
So if yours is better than these pics below we might just have a deal...

Stock or Vintage Speed
They are the only ones that work correctly with centre mount carbs and pre heat pipes

Both the ones you mentioned I would not use, quality and most importantly design are of substandard quality and will give poor performance and create
extra engine heat.To use the OG body cut outs the only exhaust I'd use is a Vintage Speed unit, either the header for more performance or the heater
box version for cheaper price.
Otherwise an A1 side winder or CSP Python or CSP Wasp for highest quality and performance

I have the same system as that (came with the car) .......I assumed that 1 pipe had been stepped on and was bent. Not that they start that crook. lol,
good to know.
they sound fine, and arent to bad compared to some of the cheap shite. but as stated above, quality is always a good thing.
