rear bearings
Hello all
I need help on rear bearings.
I have a squareback 73 and have a bit of play in the rear wheel!
Are they adjustable like the front or just replace?
If so how
All help welcome
Cheers world

The rears are not adjustable and can only be replaced. The rears in an irs normally hace a small amount of play and only need replacing if they are
sounding noisey IMO

If the spacer between the 2 bearings has been left out there could be some play.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

If the spacer is left out the bearings will be nackered if the axle nut was tensioned!!!!

Hi
I've found that the outside housing can flog out and go oval on high mileage cars, you can fit a bit of very thin shim in there to pack it out on the
ovaled section.
