Firewall Gap
Hey Dubbers,
While dismantling the Baja yesterday I noticed thes gaps either side of the firewall where it meets the quater panels. Was wondering how serious you
think it is and how to fix it?
The first pic is looking into the engine bay and the second looking from the inside.
See what yas think. Cheers

Bajas lose some structural strength when the apron is cut off and I have seen gaps open up on a number of bugs. I ran a baja on the beach for many
years with a large gap. Didn't seem to be a problem, just filled with silicone to eliminate another ppossible entry of fumes into the cabin and stop
a squeak.
In my recent baja build I closed the gaps by tapping the metal and then selaed up with quick weld. Highly recommended if you are building and have
all the sound deadening materials out of the way.

Thanks Mossman, that's pretty much exactly what I was planning to do. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be a massive drama. Cheers.
