separate heads from barrels
hi guys
is there an easy way to separate the heads from the barrels when trying to pull a motor apart?
the heads seem to be bringing the barrels off at he same time as the head.
cheers

piece of wood and a lump hammer to try and shock them apart. Sounds like you have rust and oxidation causing them the stick together.

Compressed air into spark plug hole, best if hose has screw in type on end of it. You could also use a lever under head, but be careful not to break
barrel fins off.

I use a soft hammer tapping the exhaust studs only, Do not hit any other part of the head other wise you can bend of break a fin, If you use the
compressed air method as above make sure you leave the nuts on a couple of head studs, just back them off several turns.

Go to bottom dc and 1/2 fill gap with grease. Refit plugs and turn over by hand. Leave on some loose nuts to catch head. All good. My2c
