Depends how you want to do it.
Mine is very basic.
Front cut say $3000
Sherman adaptor $650
to stock swinger trans means no launching!!!
Alfa 33 rad $300
$250 for the wiring,
pipes front to back.
Then it just spirals.
Subi 5 speed $3000 minimum. (but you can deduct the adaptor plate.) or built bug box $5000.
Better intercooling $300
Big Brakes, more boost etc etc etc

I would estimate $10K to do it properly.

There are way too many variables to give even a rough figure like how much you do yourself and the cost of the inital donor or engine package.
The quality of the conversion effects it too, there are plenty of installs out there done all at home and may not be the neatest but are sound and
reliable for only a few thousand or then some people go all out and do spend $10K or so on custom made alloy radiators, subarugears trans, hand built
stainless exahusts and intakes etc with a nice neat fitandfinish capable of winning shows.

More importantly....what's wrong with 2332 to make you want to swap?

Then just buy a WRX.
This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.

That pretty-well sums it up, Steve.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

180HP
7.5LIT per100Ks
only economical if the old motor shot and you need a new one or you can sell the old motor.
If you just pull out a good motor and leave it in the shed you just have a lump of wasted cash sitting there.

what you mean going down the tweety route? hes got one of the best builds going on this forum atm.
who the hell cares if the old engine is shot or not. Converting to a better engine that is better in every way is better even if it costs more.
