Community spirit
I signed up a couple of weeks ago to couple of forums, 1 Australian and 1 in the UK to ask some questions about help diagnosing my new/second hand
Ford Ranger that I have just bought, did the right thing and introduced myself, said Gday and then asked a question. its now 2 weeks later and I have
not had 1 response to either the hello or the problem on either sites. The VW community and this forum are so quick to say hello/chat and help out
that I guess if you haven't been anywhere else you would think it was the norm (like I did).
Just saying

Hi DubbyDo,
Not meaning to be rude, but why ask about a Ford Ranger on a VW forum. That's like going into coles and trying to buy a mens suit.
I suggest getting on a Ford forum or just google some stuff, that would be the common sense approach.
Good luck with your endeavour, Kev

Hi Kev,
Not meaning to be rude, but I don't think DubbyDo was asking about a Ford Ranger...he was "Just saying" how good the VW comunity, and this forum
was, compared to the others.
Is he building a replica of Captain Cook's sailing ship ?
Cheers, Greg
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Hi DubbyDo
You can feel the community love every time you drive past another VW. Always get a wave. I've driven all around Europe 20 years ago in a Kombi and it
was the same.

Oh Shit Greg, I think I was having a wife moment and read it totally wrong. I'll just take my foot out of my mouth and please don't tell my misses
I made a mistake.

Not wanting to be rude ....
I fear It's a generational thing...in another 50 or so years these cars will be gone from the road like the T model and most of us with them...
Oh and i always give a wave to other veedubbers on the road, and even some times when i'm driving the boring magna....
And i mostly read forums more than comment on them...who wants to hear the crap i have to say. lol
Feel the love veedubbers..

I think people like us keep the dream alive and pass it down to our kids, which will help to keep it going. My 5 year old wants (says he will buy for
$5) my Beetle and my 3 year old says I cant sell the Kombi because it is his now by default......because he says, so that's that!!!!!
