2015 Club VW Supersprint - Now in Sydney!
On behalf of Club VW Sydney I would like to extend to you and your fellow club members an invitation to attend our 7th Annual Supersprint in
conjunction with the VW Nationals car show. This year sees a change of venue as we have moved to Sydney Motorport Park at Eastern Creek where we will
be utilising the Amaroo (south) circuit. The event will be held on Saturday 23rd May 2015.
The event will be held under a CAMS event permit and follow the CAMS NSW guidelines for supersprints. For pre-entries received on or before May 16th
2015 the entry fee will be $170 for males and $85 for females. Entries received after this date will incur $30 late fee and be accepted subject to
organisers discretion. Please accept our invitation to attend this event and could you kindly pass on the Supplementary Regs and Entry Forms to
anyone who may wish to attend.
See website for further info and online payments. Note that even if you pay online you will still need to send me your entry form by email or to my
mailbox. (not the clubvw mailbox). http://www.clubvw.org.au/2015-supersprint
The mobile phone number on the sprint website belongs to my wife. Do me a favour and dont call it! My number is 0423 189
679.
In closing could I also request that if any of your members who may wish to help out on the day and are CAMS qualified in the roles of flag marshals
or scrutineer we would greatly appreciate any help that may be offered.

is it possible this year when we have the sighting lap to take a passenger. My son was in my car at Wakefield park last year for the sighting lap,
with a full face helmet on & was asked to get out as there was apparently a safety issue. I then proceeded to do a lap of the track at 50kph in a
race harness & full face helmet. To say he was bitterly disappointed was an understatement.
Where is the safety issue?. I do more than double that speed up the M1 to take him to school.

I hear what you're saying Jak, he's much more likely to get injured on the way there with cars coming the other way and red light runners coming at
you from all sides. I agree with you 100% but the rules are we cant have passengers in cars. The only exception is that you can have a CAMS licensed
driver as an instructor in the familiarisation session.

If No. 8 Beetle still runs, I will be going.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

It should run OK, Chris, even though it has only been on the track once [Raleigh Park] since the last Nats. Supersprint. The driver is more likely to
be the problem.

Two more entries from Qld on their way down. Fvee (Craig Hughes) and Mk1 Golf (Craig Hughes/Grahame Rumballe).
Cheers

I had a quick scan through the list of competitors and was surprised to see just over half the 40 or so competitors are VW/VAG. Nothing against other
makes and models competing, but surely if an event organised by a VW club smack in the middle of Sydney can not attract more NSW VW/VAG cars to
compete, where is the passion amongst the VW community to get behind their local events? There's a lot of keyboard racers these days...
