Checking if a vehicle is stolen?
I bought a bus last year in the UK, that had been imported there from Australia. (Imported back in 2003/2004)It's registered as a Jan 1956 under VIN
17009. (I think the original colour was dove blue, it was blue at least when it was imported) all import paperwork show the same 170009 VIN
I am currently restoring it and have found what I believe to be the chassis number, which may not have been visible before due to the build up of
paint and general crud - chassis number 159215. ( meaning it's actally a Dec 55)
I gave done a PPSR check on this number and it's come back as being clear. Is this sufficient?
Are there any other checks I should do?
Anyone know the history of this bus? Previous owners, pics etc. I would be keen to get in contact to fill in some of the blanks.
It's an 11 Window Microbus
Cheers

Try here
http://www.revscheck.com.au/
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

That link allows me to input the chassis number, then asks what type of vehicle before informing me that a PPSR cert is available ($25 please!)
I have already got a PPSR cert from the Aus.gov website for $4!
I assume it's the same?

Revs check is free. Just if you want a certificate it costs.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Ok - so the result of the check looks like a tick beside the chassis number - no other info. Does that seem correct or am I missing something?

Does the PPSR just check if it's a stolen vehicle or does it do a finance check too? If there's a loan linked to the vehicle then that'll be an
issue.
