Re torquing heads
Having begun my apprenticeship with mono torque head gaskets and such I haven't had the need to retorque any heads... ever! until now. do I just run
the torque wrench around all the head nuts or do I back them off and retorque them one at a time??

Are you talking about an Air cooled VW engine or Water cooled
Air cooled does not require Re torqueing as the barrels should be lapped into the heads b4 assembly
not sure about water cooled engine I would suspect if they had copper gasket yes but with the new type paper n alloy ring gaskets NO

This.
If you back them off first then there's the chance of starting to delaminate the gasket.
Especially if it's Chevy Shit, not that good pure Cleveland iron.
