End play - new fly wheel
Hi Team,
Had a flywheel with a trashed ring gear.
Replaced with a brand new part out of the box, also replaced rear main oil seal and oring on the crank.
Left existing shims in situ and installed new flywheel torquing glad nut to spec.
Yanking on the front pulley doesn't give any feeling of movement.?
The web says don't re shim on an old engine, but is this accurate or am I paranoid.?
Engine turns over by hand with normal effort, not binding or sticking..
Appreciate thoughts before I go to far (engine mounted, but pan still separate from car)
Thanks, Anthony.

g'day
You have changed the flywheel so you need to reset it.
The flywheels will be different
"The web says don't re shim on an old engine" - this is for when EVERYTHING is the same
Futue te ipsum!!!

Before you pull it back out, back off your clutch arm and measure the free play with a dial gauge, you might get lucky and it might be within spec.
It will all be OK in the end, if it's not OK it's not the end!
