Uncovering old Sign writing ?

Hi Guys.
My Split has some old sign writing on the front. I can make out one word, "BLINDS" in green and black on the passenger side, and the drivers side has an red/yellow underneath which I have no idea what it is or says.
Its has been painted over in white, Im guessing when the business sold it, and then the next owner wanted a blue van so he painted the whole thing over in blue house paint that is all pealed off in patches all over the van.
I quite like the look of the van with terrible patchy blue all over it but I really want to try get the sign writing out. The sign writing I can see is not in the best condition either so Im don't want to stuff around without any idea what the best way to go about this is.
Any tips or process or product to slowly remove the paint on top would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a few photo's of what I've got to work with:

Thanks in advance.

I have done my panel that was half pmg red, I think in those days they would have been using spaying enamel, using lacquer thinners in very small areas and a flat blade scraper not going forward but backwards (very important) rolling the old paint up rather than digging works fine , takes time but worth the effort... took me months ! but great results in keeping the original dove blue on my old girl.... lots of patience !!!!
