NSW Blue slip.. No compliance plate ... import

Im sure im in for some RMS blue slip pain, so any tips, tricks or recommendations would be appreciated!
Just purchased a 75 Beetle convertible Registered in WA
Car has no compliance plate that I can see
Has an American compliance sticker on the LH pillar with a VIN number on it
Car was restored 10 years ago and had a new pan with a different number... vin on the pan matches the one on WA rego papers!
Do Older Bugs actually need a Compliance plate?
Cheers in advance

I bought a VW years ago from Canberra and had to register it in NSW
It was a 1975 and no compliance. It was lost in a respray

Blue slip person said I needed a VIIU inspection
https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/make-booking-vehicle-identificatio...

When I went to RTA to book one they told me to "piss off"
They rang up the inspector and told him to pull his head in.

I went back and got my blue slip and went back and got my plates.

All depends on the day i reckon

Technically you DO need the compliance plate but not the end of the world if you dont

No, cabrios never had them. Compliance plates are just an Aussie thing.

I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!
