Engine number ID and has been re-stamped?!?!
Ok so having trouble find parts that fit and etc etc..
My engine number starts with a "5", so 1961 1200cc? So I have researched..
Now it's been re-stamped just under the original with " bm1-1389"
Can some one please help..

I would be interested to know also - I have a 36hp engine stamped BM1 as well. Obviously an engine repair shop or VW shop who did work on the
engines. Post a photo of yours please.
