Leaking fuel pump

Hi all,

I have a leaking fuel pump. It's leaking out of a hole on the side of the top part, and also leaking out of the bar with the c clips on it. A quick google search doesn't turn up any results. Anyone come across this before? Fixable or replace? Cheers

It's leaking petrol not oil just to confirm.

Check Your engine oil to make sure no fuel has diluted the oil....

I have heard its difficult to find repairable new fuel pumps they are all sealed now.....

If Yours has screws around the top then You can replace the diaphram in it.
with a repair kit..

Thanks for the replies. I ended up buying an electric pump from Repco. Going to leave the original pump on for aesthetics though.

That one could have a Wolfsburg West diaprahm fitted to replace as the replacement pumps are very hit n miss on how long they will last due to poor quality.

Better to fit the electric like you have but the 3-4psi facet pump and I doubt repco would have a clue about that.

I had a low-pressure Facet put in at one tiem, but became concernerd about it pumpiing fuel after the engine had stopped (eg after colliision/accident) if the ingnition was left on... There is a way to wire-in, to avoid this potentially Dangerous problem : it goes off if engine stops (but others need to explain, as I've forgotten).

I would get the original / mechnical type working/replaced if possible -- unless there is no other way. Two types: vertical earliier type; or angled later type (fpor alternator).

4-8 psi pump made for carbies. Triggered by the generator warning light with a bypass switch jjst incase the bowl is empty. Works a treat

Many Webers don't like more than 3.5psi. There's a special Facet pump to do this pressure without the need for a regulator :)

Can also be triggered from a relay triggered by oil pressure- no oil pressure no fuel pump.
