VW Mechanic Melbourne
Chasing a good VW mechanic in Melbourne for a 1964 westfalia kombi.
Been to volkspower and volkscare, but a lot of issues never overlooked and never resolved, so after advice on somewhere else it can be taken.
Cheers

Car actually belongs to my misses folks. I gave it a fair overhaul quite some years ago, But needs quite abit more work., These days and I simply
don't have the time to do it myself.
Well after the work I have seen both do to this kombi I doubt that.
Both claimed to have rebuilt the front calipers...When I took it on to fix her up myself after a few bodgy services, both front brakes had one piston
seized on one side and thus on each front brake one pad barely worn whilst other almost completely worn out. ( I since rebuilt them after the both had
apparently done it).
I told them the bump stop needing replacing on drivers side upper....Apparently replaced. I told them it hasn't been, they had been charged. And
after 3 more services still not replaced to this day.
Rust cut out by one of the above...which involved bog and spray over the top...when rust was supposed to be cut and welded.
Car has a massive lean at front (side to side). From what I can tell, nothing wrong with any of the front end parts so it is most likely suffering
from a cracked torsion leaf or two as its soft as hell and if there was actually a bump stop there, it would probably be resting on it . Was told by
one of the above that it was fine....funny how one side is about 3 inches lower than the other at the front.
So main work that needs doing, front end needs inspection, probably new torsion leaf.
Bump Stop
They want the old heater fixed ( from memory the fan has had it - so a replacement sourced if there not rare as heck)
