Gear box number help
I have a farm buggy, IRS Type 3, would like to put a 1600 Kombi Box with a 5.42 R&P in it.
I have found a box for sale 002 301 103 B I am told it is out of a 1600 Kombi - around 1973 vintage.
1: Is is a 1600 Kombi box with the 5.42 R&P?
2: Will any major mods be required to fit the box into the Type 3 Starter motor? Fly wheel?

Too much to explain here but I can point you in the right direction.
To determine if it is a 1600 Kombi box it has 3 reinforcement ribs cast into it over the top of the gearbox where the CV shafts come out.
