[SOLD] Empi GT-8 style rims PRICE DROPPED
Hi all,
I have Wheels for sale,
They are vintage but I don't know who actually makes them, they are the same as the new Empi GT-8's.
Price: 200 FIRM.
The rims are located near Port Macquarie on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, so if you need freight go from there.
Thanks
Michael

They are already weighted, so new tires and then balance them, they could use a scrub and polish but they are not cheap chinese reproductions, they
are the real deal vintage rims.
I would take a cash offer on them just pm me.
Thanks

Thanks Bushed,
I haven't had time to get down to where the car is to measure radius, but what I do remember from the time I was there is,
Tread most definitely not road legal, would suit burn-outs or just something to sit the car on as they do hold air etc. but that is about it.
Tires look like about 1987 when the car was last regoed but unknown brand.
If this helps at all,
Thanks
Michael.

I honestly can't tell you as I don't know, the car is 650 kilometers from where I am and I won't be back there until christmas if not later, I have
a friend down there who has agreed that if they sell before I am back then she will be there with the wheels and tires

Blaster, if the wheels are 15", you can buy a new set for about less than $600. Considering that they are a current design and you will need lots of
elbow grease to get them looking schmick again... i think realistically you could probably expect to get between $300 to $400. I just bought a used
set of 15" bathurst style alloys for my buggy project for $350...and the 14" ones usedtend to go for around $150-$200 a set.
I have been shopping around for awhile like the tight arse i am, so i am quite aware of the prices. BTW i am looking for a set of alloys for my
beetle, and am willing to pay $300 or so if you think they are taking up space and really "have to go"

I have a cars & parts magazine here from June/July 1978 and list price for a set of 4 is $950 or $1100 for a set in all chrome.
Montybug, I will send you a pm, and maybe we can work something out.
Thanks
Michael

They do have some curb rash, but that is all fixable with a little work.
I know they are not perfect, that is why I am not asking upwards of $1500.
I don't know where you are going to get another genuine vintage set of rims in this style for this price.
All they need is minor repairs to the curb-rash and a polish, or just new tires and use them as is for a daily driven car.
Thanks

They are not original Empi's, the originals were a 2 piece rim, and the center cap was held on with 4 screws.
Most likely cheap aftermarket copy from the 80's/90's, American Eagle etc.
I think Montybug is on the money, $300ish set.

Michael,
Take a hint, everyone is trying to tell you in the nicest way the wheels just are not worth what you want for them. I personally think they're being
kind to you saying they're worth $300.
Just because its old and beat up doesn't make it vintage. You can buy the exact same wheels brand new and shiny for less than you want for them,
but good luck with the sale.

Michael, as a pure guess, I assume you are very young [then again everyone is to me ], and therefore on a 'steep learning curve'. You have nailed it with "I believe something is only worth what someone will
pay"...certainly not related to "what I plan on spending the money on".
You do not appear "Thick-Headed" to me, in fact I admire what you are taking on. The Eureka is going to be a great little car one day...keep up the
good work.
Cheers, Greg
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Bump.
$240 would buy them, but I am no longer willing to negotiate down further.
That is only $60 per wheel.
I can remove the tyres if that makes shipping easier for anyone that needs it.
Thanks
