Front Wheel Bearing Diagnosis?

Hi folks. Given that the forum is a little quiet I thought I would post up a pic of the front outer wheel bearing. When cleaning it up to take it to the bearing supplier, I discovered this!

I don't remember dropping it when dismantling. It still rotates in the race. It has no signs of overheating on the rollers and was not dry of grease. My wheels are round.

Any ideas?

Cheers......Wayne

1 possibility is that when the bearing was being adjusted the screwdriver caught the edge of the cage instead of the washer and distorted it.

Yes Dave, agree. I have already replaced all the bearings, even the round ones.
Grumble, your suggestion makes absolute sense. Thanks! I will be particularly careful with the screwdriver when I adjust up the new bearings.
Cheers
