Went camping this week
I went to Uni with my mate Phil years ago, but he's been teaching up in Shepparton for the past few years, so I don't get the chance to
spend much time with him anymore.
He rang Sunday afternoon and came over to spend the night. We decided to head out camping for a few days, so we ducked into Morwell to grab some
supplies, organised our mate Danny and ducked back home to chuck some stuff in the kombi.
We decided to stay at Jackson's Flats, about 45 mins from my place on the Morwell River, in Boolarra South. Unfortunately it involves a creek
crossing, and the far bank was slippery clay with no grip at all, especially after Danny had driven his Nissan through. Needless to say, I got stuck.

Easy, I thought. I went round the back, opened the tailgate and pulled out my tow strap. I hooked it up to Danny's Nissan, only to find that he
couldn't get enough grip to pull me out, so I backed right into the river so we could get a run up.
It wasn't until I was happily up the other side that Phil informed me that I'd run over the slab of cans. There were about 6 missing, and a
heap more were squashed and puntured, which left us with only about 6. Fortunately, I'd bought a slab of light, and Phil and Danny had about 8 cans of Cougar left, so we decided to set up camp and kick back, and
head down to the Boolarra Pub for more beer the next day.
We got the tarp up, and set up my hike tent for Danny. Phil had brought his swag along, and I was sleeping in the kombi. Danny decided that his 4x4
was blocking the way, so he moved it, running over his jerry can full of fuel in the process!
Later that evening, Danny and Phil went four-wheel-driving and got stuck. While digging it out, Phil managed to lose a brand-new pack of rolling
tobacco.
Score so far: 1 slab of beer ($30), 1 jerry can of fuel ($10) and 1 packet of rollies ($20) ....and we'd just got settled!!:o
Fortunately for us, the rest of the trip was uneventful. We drank beer, talked crap, read books and cooked food. A very relaxing trip. :thumb

I had a heap of good photos until Danny tried to delete one and lost the lot.
Here's the kombi on the way out again. Unfortunately I went a bit quick for Phil (taking photos) and he didn't get any of me in the drink.
The good news is that the kombi made it out without assistance. :thumb

Man that's steep. Photos tend to flatten out inclines, so this must be very steep in the flesh.
