Dave,
I receive and update My microsoft windows 98 every few weeks. these are delivered free to anyone with a NEW copy of windows 98... which does cost money... this was identical to the real microsoft patch that I receive all the time..
My business version of Nortons anti virus stops the others in their tracks... virtually daily...
cheers Lee

have fun at the Rally.. wish I were there too..

Optus cable has been hit by something.

They are still working on it.

We can get internet but not our emails:(

Your Network Password window keeps popping up all the time which is part of the problem, from talking to their technical support last night.

Since this problem started I've been getting obviously dodgy pop-ups saying to go to their site website to download a program to make your email secure etc.

Sounds like someone has hit Optus big time!!!:jesus

I have recieved this email about 15 times over the past 4 days. Bloody annoying.
We had prior warning thankfully from our IT support folks.
Looks pretty genuine. Had some other text only ones with links , deleted them too.

Astro,
Yes I received it many times too, but My grandson was here on friday and had a play with the mouse and keyboard and somehow closed down Nortons antivirus
I then proceeded to do the microsoft patch.... Nortons has NEVER ever let Me down ... I couldn't live without them....
I have stuck to Windows 98 (the latest version) if it wasn't any good they wouldn't upgrade it would they??
Apple Macs don't get Viruses so I'm told..

robo...linux is good. different, but good. u'll find a fair few web servers use it, and u can run a program inside it called xwindows which will run 'most' windows programs
there are a few 'easy'/basic versions too. like red hat linux.

Thanks Zac
I'm on a bit of a hate Gate's thing at the moment, I think the world should unite and start using Linux!
I will have to take a better look at Linux, and see if I can use it, I really cant stand MS predatory marketing, I hate corperate greed at the best of time's, so anything I can do to piss them and their products off is my threapy!

Emails

We have been bombarded with "Microsoft" emails. In fact the last time I opened my emails I received 103 - all from "Microsoft". Luckily Optus (yes we have cable) told us of a way to get around it.
