air cooled ..... 1800 engine...


we were wondering if anybody can help us ... we are new too the kombi world ... we have a kombi 74 camper , has a 1800 motor ... and we have picked up a another kombi a with a 2 litre motor and heater etc... my husband was wondering can the extractors from the 2 litre go on the 1800 ??? and we didn't have a heater which we have got from the other van and we are trying too install that too ... has anybody got some hints that will help us out .... as we are very new too this ... but we are having a great time trying as we go ... :)

I shall assume by heater you mean the heat exchangers on the exhaust. The exhaust systems were interchangable right up to '78 motors. '79 and later motors had a different flange shape on the heads of the motor.
SOME exhausts had a different flange on the end of the heat exchange that the muffler bolts to, but if you have them side by side that's easy to see.
