Rear Discs from ?
Hi,
I heard somewhere that you could adapt rear discs from an eb falcon to fit a vw. Has anyone done this, or has anyone adapted rear discs, or even front
discs for that matter to their beetle?
I know you can buy aftermarket disc brake kits from a number of places, but I need to use something from another car.

So what is used of the EB? just the disc and caliper? Are the brackets and other crap off another car , or have they been fabricated?

What about porsche brakes?.....A few people have put 944 brakes on their beetles...But can you adapt these to a swing axle rear end?

I've got 944 brakes on the back of my super- which is IRS, I imagine they'd fit on a swing axle to.
Your best bet is to have a look at http://www.germanlook.com and check the forums
there.
On another note though - if you use 944 rears you'll really want to upgrade the fronts to. Otherwise you may end up with unusual braking
characteristic's.
Cheers
Jeremy

Dont know for sure, but from an Engineering point of view they look and work great. Theres heaps of them fitted to cars.
They have been approved by several Engineers here in Sydney, as you have to get a cert to have a modified car. These engineers are approved by The RTA
for Engineer mods to vehicles.

I'm using exactly what Ben has got, u can get the whole rear set from a wreckers for about $250, I then went all out & got brand new calipers
$136 each & brand new DBA cross drilled rotors $150 each just since the car gets used on the track. Even the vw handbrake cable bolts straight up.
I know have head through the window brakes!

Most of us QLD boys go for the XF brakes because they are vented. The kit from custom offroad is also DPT approved. You can do it cheaper yourself if
you want to use second hand parts like I did.

Hi Manfred !
Thanks for that. They look good!
I don't think I can make it over there next year, but I will be coming back some time for sure!
Are you still allowed to have the show in the same place?
When are you going to come to Austrailia ?
