I've a '68 IRS/balljoint chassis using new discs & Varga twin pin calipers up front with drums at the rear. The rears will be replaced
with a disc conversion.
Anyone have a good source for a rear conversion kit?

I prefer the customoffroad rear brake kits. They have the added benefit of being QLD transport approved.
I run stock discs up front, and customoffroad XF falcon vented rear discs on the back. They are the perfect bias for my offroad tyres.

Interested parties might like to perform a search of this forum on the word 'Sherman'.
A (ahem) variety of opinions about the quality will be encountered.

Was mearly offering alternatives.Everyone will have an opinion on everything someone asks about or does.I'm not out to plug anyone as I also know
people who like them and dislike them (shermans). Having said that it is a "cheaper" alternative than other makes and if you were a racer or
very hard driver you would probably take another option (would reccomend the Custom Offroad ones). For normal driving maybee not??? I bought a full set
for my Manx(front and rear) as they were all new materials and suited my application - a very light car - and are better than 4 wheel drum
brakes!!!!Total cost for front and rear assemblies complete - swing axel rear/link pin front was $1350 including freight to Townsville. Bolt on.

I'm not bagging Shermans or your choices for that matter.
I pointed out that there was (mixed) practical experience with the brand, documented on this site and relevant to the topic.

The CB Performance conversion kit looks good. I emailed them about shipping to Aust or Aust distributors, but no reply yet.

OK, the response was $260 US for freight to Brisbane on the 4622 & 4631 kits. With the current exchange rate that puts the kit at under $900 AUD
delivered to Brisbane.
Australian distributors:
1. Vintage VeeDub Supplies in Campsie, Ph (02) 9789 1777, david@clubvw.org.au
2. V Force in Mortlake.
Anyone used this kit before?

Hi
It all depends on how much you want to spend and how much you want to stop. For most applications early twin pin type 3 calipers on the front and
Falcon rears work well. Jak is using falcon rears on his bug.

I think those prices are making the ford brakes look inviting.
