WINDSCREEN WATER HOLDER????
just a couple of questions bout the water windscreen holder. I have a 1976 kombi and the original water holderis in place. i want to get rid of the
pressure system in place and replace it with an electric motor but A) can you still run it through the steering wheel controls????
B) i was just goin 2 screw the electric pump in the bottam would this be ok ????

Well, if you want to go electric over the original pressurised system, the valve in the lever will need to be ditched and a switch put in it's
place. I have heard of it being done, but it is quit a job to do neatly.
As for the pump, you can mount just a pump below the standard tank to keep things neat. Attach the inlet to the pump to the bottom tank outlet, and
make sure the pressurising valve is removed so the tank can breath.
That's what I've done and just added a switch to the dash.

I've done the same as Andy; suspect many Kombis of this vintage are the same.
Replace the rubber hoses at the same time.
To use the original activation, you would need to use a micro-switch in place of the original valve.

Hi
I made a small bracket to bolt a micro switch (get them from Dick Smith Jaycar etc) to the back of my wiper switch using the same mounting holes that
the pneumatic valve used. I used it for years with a relay and the stock bottle. It all looked very neat and worked in a factory manner. If its to
hard to do just put a button on the dash. You will need to have a small hole in the cap to let air in to replace the used fluid.
Not long ago I needed to replace the wiper switch on my 72 bug, it came with a separate dedicated wire that produced 12 volts when the wiper switch
was pulled back, so I didn’t need the micro switch at all.
