WAY HOME
On my way home from Yarra Glen, Pash really played up big time, back firing, stalling and not starting again......this distressed me a little as she
was running so smooth the day before, I had a long way home yet through busy traffic so I rang RACV, he made sure I got to Diamond creek where a
mechanic would tend to it Monday morning, racv gave us a taxi and put us up in a motel for the night. (had my moneys worth outta them this year) .
Turns out pash needed a set of points plugs and tune up and once again shes running beautiful...but... how does this happen over night...running
perfect one day and horrid the next....? Anyways once i got home the other half asked " when are u gonna give up? " "get rid of it and
its unreliability and you can drive my subaru"
Under all the stress ( not the best driver in fast traffic ) I was in on that sunday never once did I think of doing away with Pash, not once did I
curse her.... if anything it bought us closer, another hardship we got through and besides it gave me a day off work Monday. So u can all imagine the
response the other half got "?"

You have some unbelievable luck with that bus Ree. Ya gonna have to make sure she gets serviced at regular intervals, or at least just prior to these
little trips. :thumb

Yes - its called regular maintenance - and no it was NOT ment as a dig.
Now this is one thing for a $100 you can fix
Points - ahh points. They work but.....
For $100 you can get a Magfire (or Petronix or Compufire.. but they cost more) This gets away from points, gaps, wear, re-adjusting timing.
No - it doesnt do anything except what it is suppose to.
They only thing to be careful of is dont leave the engine "on" without the motor running or they will die. But you can burn points
condensers and coils this way as well.
They other thing to constantly check is valves. Or get hydraulic lifters.
In Daisy (my wifes car) we have hydraulics, automatic and Magfire.
I get Magfire & Webers :bounce

Definitely worth ditching the points. Two less things to go wrong b/c they also do away with the condensor.

Hi Ree, sorry to hear bout your trip.
been there too, but dispite all my mishaps & adventures I still wouldn't part with her.
She has had her moments also, but look at it this way...you will soon know Pash so well, you will no when things are not quite right with her.
Just builds stronger your relationship with her.

Blues advice about the electronic ignition is good Ree. Changed mine over last year. Not probs at all. Money well spent.
