Motor Wont Kick Over
I was advised to do the following
Check for air leaks on the intake system,check valve adjustment and timing
Could somebody give me little more info on how to check foe air leaks????

Yep, we can get the engine to kick over ( not every time ) but the motor just won't hold it's revs once started

Will the engine keep running if you floor it/rev it??Chech the tension of the inlet manifold nuts...Also check coil. Some more info might assist
others in helping also (wot motor/car etc):jesus

I had the problem of my bus turning over but not holding its revs. Gave me a headache for ages. Turns out it was the fuel filtter, simple.

its a 72 Auto 1600 Fastback, dual Carbies, if I floor it and leave the pedal the motor runs, but as soon as I ease off it, She simply dies on
me....... Fuel Filters????? Is the fuel filter a size a C size battery connected to two fuel hoses. Any from Brissy give me a buzz. As I need my car

fuel filter
Thats the one, below the tank.
They cost about two bucks to replace so give it a go.
You can test if its bung by taking it off and blowing into it to see if its blocked.

FUEL
Sounds like fuel stavation, try taking one of you fuel lines of a carby and crank the engine and see if you get a good streem of fuel running out of
it, also check fuel pump, but it does sound like the filter I like to run two filter to be sure to be sure.

Hey dude if it is your filter change it and run it till your tank is almost empty then pull out your fueltank and clean out 30yrs of sludge and then
another new filter,if you dont clean the tank history will repeat itself regularly,i pull my tank and clean it each year.:thumb |

You can also treat the inside of your tank so it dosn't rust and klag up you lines:thumb
