is no body playing with the old school conversion.remember these little motors in buggys, bajas etc, dirt racers,
very strong motor run with a turbo they scream, cheap and no fuel injection etc..

The cast iron block is heavy. In stock form they aren't very powerful either. I had an a1500 powered van, quite slow. I rebuilt the motor and still have a spare one I used for parts sitting in the shed. I didn't see anything good about the motor that would make me want to put one in a VW.

Cheap? Yes.
Good? not really.
Worth putting in a vw? I don't think so

just my opinions :thumb

you gotta realise it's the T04 turbo and 4 barrel holley making it fast, not the A1500 it's sitting on ;)

Stick that induction set-up on a 1600TP and I'm sure it will be fun and fast too :thumb

you could be right`,head studs pulling at high boost on the standard type 1,dato running 20psi,,but in the old dirt seen in the 70s they used this combo in the buggies,b4 the twin cam motors become the in thing....
we all know forced induction is the way to go,,,i think most new cars coming on the market will become small cubic but forced feed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

cheers:beer
