Download a Program call "MailWasher" the freewae version allows you to filter/bounce unwanted e-mails while it is still at the ISPs server.
Unfortunately it will not allow you tofilter your hotmail account. The Pro version will.
Since I've had this program my junk mail has gone from 200 a day to 2 per week

LOL! Good call, dude. I've been using my friends mac. It's awesome. So smooth, user friendly (once you get used to them) and reliable. They
won't cause you any problems at all, the only reason why you end up getting rid of them is to update to a faster/better one.

Perhaps if you run ADAWARE and other similar programs(free...just do a search) they will remove the little man in your PC box and keep this stuff
away. I'm a heavy downloader and had these "spam" problems on a regular basis until enough was enough and I removed the demons from my
system. Now I have no problems......Kazaa is a pig for this happening...:jesus:cry.Have also used mailwasher etc.All good in one way or another....

(CNN) -- The MyDoom virus has become the fastest-spreading virus yet, hitting hardest in the United States and Australia, security firm MessageLabs
said Wednesday.
...
More than 100,000 copies are being intercepted every hour, he added. One in 12 e-mails handled by MessageLabs was infected with the worm.
...
FBI agents are investigating the source of the worm, also known as "W32/Mydoom.A-mm," "Novarg" or "WORM_MIMAIL.R."
...
The message in MyDoom is sent as a binary attachment. It often arrives in a zip archive of 22,528 bytes and is represented by a text icon even though
it is an executable file, which are renowned for carrying viruses.
While the body of the e-mail varies, it usually includes what appears to be an error message, such as: "The message cannot be represented in
7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent as a binary attachment."
...
The worm is contained in e-mails with random senders' addresses and subject lines.
...
When loaded, some versions of the worm launch Notepad and show random characters. At the same time it replicates itself, opens a backdoor that could
allow hackers to break in and, in some instances, installs a "keystroke" program that records everything being typed, including passwords
and credit card numbers.
The worm is also spreading via popular Internet file sharing networks such as Kazaa, where it appeared with names such as "Winamp5"
"ICQ2004-final."
...
CNN.com's Jeordan Legon contributed to this report.

They could be. If you need finance to keep up your supply of viagra then you might look like this -> no such luck for me. I just sit by the mailbox waiting for junk mail to arrive so I can check out the bra
ads.
I'm getting heaps of spam and virus emails too. over 100 perday :o Recently I started getting auto replies saying my emails are infected with a
virus. I'm not sending the emails/viruses! They are using the admin address of a yahoo group I started for wollongong sporting car club years
ago.

Lots of the viri will use the data in the infected persons address book. So if your name is in someones Outlook and they get hit with the virus,
chances are you will or they will use your email address as the sender so it looks like it originiated from your computer.
Best solution: Get a Mac. Zero viruses, zero backdoor hacks, zero hassle.

I only get crap mail for Diplomas and Female dating.
I don't need either. I used SPYBOT to rid my computer of spyware. It shafted KaZaA but that was a small price to pay to clear me of Junk Mail.
Now I get about 3 a day and I don't even have a spam filter. If I had of know I could have ask it not to touch KaZaA. Oh well.
I got an abusive eMail tonight because I wouldn't answer this guys Email with "Hi" in the Subject. I simply Deleted it. I explained but
he hasn't replied - So how knows.

It goes without saying here that all keen webusers should install, run and keep updated a reputable virus checking programme.
I update my virus checker every time i get on the net and rarely are my virus signatures up top date. Always downloading new ones.
Another strategy that should be second nature but still after all the dramas as far back as 'Melissa" and the rest of these bloody viruses
is that people still insist on opening email attachments that contain executables.
If you have a virus checker, which we all should, then any mails containing any other type of attachments other than image files such as .jpg, .bmp,
.giff, .tiff and movie files such as .mpeg, .wma, .mov can be quarrantined and checked by the virus checker.
Eeeeeeasy.
No more viruses.
Another thing to not is that last week, I was loaded with three seperate viruses that were delivered via the web ()HTML borne). NOT via E-mail. One of
them was visiting the Popular Scientist magazine website
I run a very aggressive firewall but I had forgotten to run it at the time and my machine was hit.
Fortunately, my virus proggy found them and i could clean them off.
Moral:
Run a good quality and updated every day virus programme.
Install and run a decent firewall.
Thirdly, install and run an anti-spam programme.
I use SpamFighter.
Freeware and it has reduced my spam by over 90% coming off my domain.
Happy non-viral websurfing everyone!

Macs are no more or no less susceptible to HTML borne viruses than anything else dude.
Its the HTML (web) borne variety that are the ones that hurt.
Like I said, I was loaded with 3 different varieties of virus just by visiting websites without my firewall on.
Never even ran the mail proggy at the time.

My computer is DOWN....
I can remember seeing a few emails with attachments about being a Binary file and can't be read etc... I run Nortons antivirus software... which
usually stops most viruses in their tracks...
BUT My computer is Down at the moment and it looks like everything on the hard drive has to be wiped....
I used to get 100+ spam emails per day, until recently when I changed My ISP...
NEW E mail address,,,, Now I get about 2 a day... from another email address I use.
None from My New ISP yet.... Lee
