squeak
as i drive my 73 bus it squeaks fairly loudly at the front. the mechanic could not find it and when he put it on the hoist it went away for a little
while so he thought he must of just moved something. the squeak is back (within a few days) does this sound like shock absorbers? any thoughts?

It might be a dry ball joint,
Are all the boots in good condition? Get a can WD 40 with a tube on it and slip it behind to ball joint boot and give it a squirt, if it goes away it
is a ball joint, it won't work for very long, you will need to fit a new joint soon.

That is the point. It the rubber looks dry and cracked then real good chance it is dry and not lubricating.
Maybe get one of those tins with the thin straw and squirt it in the crack??

Take the shocks off the car and drive it around the block see if that fixes it then you need new shocks. , or its the ball joint.
To replace the ball joint on a Kombi you have to remove the torsion arm and use a 25 ton press to push out and replace the ball joint its the only
way to get them out.
