Clutch?

New problem, put the clutch in when pulling up tonight and sounded like something snapped, but I still had a clutch.. Although now it is noisy, both through drive and through pressing the clutch in..

Suggestions?

sounds like the thrust race might have jumped off the arm. Only one way to find out and thats pull the engine again.

Other possibility:- is the pressure plate a finger or 3 arm type. If its the arm type did you pull the assembly tabs out of the arms when you installed it ??

Did you back the cable off before installing the engine.

Maybe throwout bearing arm bent or broke? I had a similar thing happen to me (had a 3 arm style pressure plate...one arm decided to jump out (hard to explain)). I was just able to change gears with a bit of grinding but still had two of the arms working!....pulled the engine, replaced the pressure plate...voila!
