Hi all, my turn to suck some advice from you.
In the near future, mabey this weekend perhaps I plan to take the Dog-O-War (71 Baja) to a mates to get some work done. The main thing is replacing
the tranny rubbers and strapping the tranny down tighter to limit further wear. I also hope to get done or at least be shown who to replace my master
cylinder and install a carby kit without stuffing it so it should be a good learning curve provided I leave the beers to later on.
Anyhow, what I'm asking is, should I take along other stuff that could / should be done while the motor is out and the transaxle is under the
microscope. An example Ben put to me is to grab a main bearing seal and do that while your at it.
What else do you all suggest?

check the clutch, pressure plate, end float, and oil cooler seals, and engine mounts as well.

Clutch throw out bearing and clutch fork too. I've had both fail on me before.
Will prove an intersting weekend for you

If your replacing the main seal, I'd also replace the Gland nut which has the pilot bearing in it. I would also check bolts torques while there
easily accessable.

Should probably put a new input shaft seal in the gearbox too.....and if the axle boots haven't been done in a while its much easier to get to
them with the motor out :bounce
