kombi engine bay stuff?


hey
im stuck with getting out the stuff that is above the engine on the top and stops heat getting through into the cabin????? i will get a pic ASAP to show what i mean! i cant find it anywhere in the manual

Its held on by Rivets. Look around the frames. use a larde drill bit to drill out the heads or use a dremel

yer i thought that i though they might of been screw in though?!?
i want to take it out cause im painting in there and also im putting in a type 3 engine lid (as its a 72 i has no engine lid )

That explains it!
I would assume that the rivets would be generic and quite easy to replace.

Yep, drill old ones out, and replace with new. Easy job.
If you can't find pop rivets with the large heads like original, just use a large washer under a smaller pop rivet :thumb
