***URGENT***Twin carbs getting wet.

How do you stop rainf from running onto my twin webbers and flooding the motor.

Yes the boot lid is closed but after work it is hard to start and the filters are soaked.

I cut a peice of laminate to fit in the deck lid under the vents. If it looks like rain I just slot it in position. I only use it when the car is parked not when I'm driving.

Also make 100% sure the filter is sealing properly.

I was having problems but i reckon i fixed it. Alls i really did was make sure the K&N was sitting correctly on the base and top.

I was also running a CP oil filler / breather and the top hose connection was open and i reckon i was getting a dribble in there, maybe?

Make sure there is no pooling and then a leak into carb
When it starts you will suck a gob full.

Either way - the last couple of days in the rain have been fine.

Barry

The air filters are tight and sealed. The water trickles and gets through the actual filter material and then sits in a puddle. I can see the water drops straight into the float chamber as there is no "roof". I didn't get this part in the kit.

Are you running K&N's??? or those foam ones

Bit surprised if the K&Ns would let it trickle through??

Are you leaving the deck propped open???

"I can see the water drops straight into the float chamber as there is no "roof". I didn't get this part in the kit."

Are you running venturi stacks??

Have velocity stacks - filters look like K & N but a grey material instead of the light purple colour.

My base plate on the filters has gaps in them. I'm pretty sure I bought Dellorto kit off Boris. I have Webbers. MAy bew this is the proble for the gap.

2 plastic bags, one over each carb, that will fix it, just don't forget to take them off when you start the car.
