nose cone compatability
I'm installing a later model AB gear box in my 54 Oval. I know there are different nose cones to fit bugs. I have a 2 hole and a 3 hole. Are
there also different types of 2 holed nose cones? I was told a split kombi nose cone would fit? Whats the consesus on this?

What do you mean by AB ???
Its not the gearbox you have to change its the rear or front gearbox mount on the chassis. You have to have the later style one not the wrap around
early type.
This may require welding into position on the torsion tube, and ideally you need a dummy empty gearbox to set it up so that all aligns with the gear
shift rod.

OK so you have the later gearbox mount already fitted. Some had this style and some had the wrap around dont know why the differences but its
better for you.
I think you will find that a later tunnel style gearbox will fit straight into the chasis. you shouldnt need the Kombi nose cone at all.
If you can get and empty gearbox shell and try that in the hole first to see if it all lines up correctly.

WOO HOO! something's going my way for once! I'll just be dropping the car off to the mechanic for him to do. He's reco-ing my GB
already and its got the later two hole nose cone - should slot right in, otherwise my wallet will hear about it I suppose...
thanks Dave!
