well ive done it now!

jsut went for a belt out to wingham to pick up hte lady. got out there no worries. stopped went inside had a chat with the boss, and then off we went home. started up hte street and the bus decided to jump outa fourth. hmmm, never doen this b4. put it back in, and out it jumps again.
ive broken it havent i? i am also in the midst of replacing neville's box due to the same thing. but it was like this when i found it.

is my bus box beyond saving, or may it be something jsut out of place? i like the 1200 box as the ratios seem quite good.

My beetle box did the same thing.

It was out of a 1200, and was a tired old thing.

It never jumped out of 4th with the old 1100 Oval engine, but when the bigger one went in, it jumped out of 4th whenever I put the boot in.

That box is now at the tip!

I got a single side plate box rebuilt by Lawrence Svensen at German Auto's in Brissy.

Who me?

IRS now, late model pan.

BTW
The jumping out of 4th is just a worn out gear set. Replace them and should be OK.

Check your shifter rod bushes, gear change gate at next to the g/b, adjustment in the plate under the gearstick, and finally too much play in the ball/rod at the end of the stick!

and add to Steve's list - gearbox and engine mounts.

Seems strange it's happened so quickly, usually the drive gear wears slowly and begins to jump out when the power comes off and on. They can be "background" by an engineering shop - however you have to strip the gearbox.

ok thanks for this. it is swing still, i actually like it better.

the box is braced in nice and neat. it dont move. it has and does crunch a little, and the stick ahas been known to move around for a while. i will look at those suggestions.
