for those bicycle cruisers out there
I bought a skidstar off this list a while ago and have been accumulating bits. Finally got it together and going!
Rides beautifully except I need a much bigger rear sprocket (22 or 24 tooth) anyone know where I can get one here in Oz ?(on a sturmey archer hub but
it is the same as a bmx three notch one)

I just checked on 2 of my 3 speed BMX bikes and they are both 18 teeth rear.
The 2 spare 3 speeds are also 18.
Spyder-WISD 07-09-05 11.6s @ 125 MPH
Speedster-WISD Nats 05 14.4s @ 89 MPH
Jet cruiser-Coogee 22-09-05 900 deg C @ 110,000 rpm

What about the guy who owns the bike shop around the corner from the Sebel in Brisbane? He restores old bikes, especially Road racing bikes, but he
can get anything.

KKK,email me a picture of the front chainring.It might be able to be changed for a smaller one!The 20 tooth costs about $45-50.A chainring is
cheaper,most times,for this style of bike.empi man.

as a (very) ex track bike rider can I recommend a place out on Stafford Rd, Stafford. Its called Ridgeways Cycles, owner is Simon, (07) 3355 9653
(number should still be right). This guy has been into all sorts of bikes for donkeys years. When I had to find an french thread bottom bracket for a
Colnago Master track bike, he actually had one in a box buried deep in the shop. Its a bloody alladins cave there. Try him, his prices are good as
well.

Thanks for all replies. I know Ridgeways, I will go there tomorrow!
I have looked into changing the front chainring but the offset of this combo is spot on. It took me two bottom bracket sets, this set om nut on
cranks and a bit of machining as this frame has the loose sleeve bottom bracket with two right hand threads. The rear is such an easy job to change
too-compared with the front!
The v- brakes make all the difference. I have a KHS team cross country mountainbike that stops onna dime and those caliper brakes just soooo suck!
The guy who welded the brackets on (shout out to baybuscamperkid) got them pretty well placed for a frame like this not originally designed for it.
Im looking for some brake boosters for it so I dont stress the frame but the ones I have seen look naff. May make some.
I had Pete @ Astrobike build me some wheels on the hubs. Front is a schwinn off a '66 36h. Rear is a Sturmey Archer AW, also '66 (frame has
been ID'd as a 66 model from a trainspotter on another forum its not a GT as the GT had horizontal dropouts so Im told)
Pete builds nice wheels. Quick plug to a good bloke if ya need your bike fixed.
Shifter is a genuine NOS sports-shift from a '66 Raliegh.
Slicks rock. I have not taken it for a long ride yet as I live in a part of town that starts and finishes with a right bastard of a climb. Hence the
serious gearing down. Not going to go that fast on it on bikepaths ( the reason I built it) so lowish with three up ranges will suit me, its my hilly
town singlespeed.

can sell you a Japanese S.Y. 22t n.o.s. from the '70's for $50, or a new Dicta for about $15.
22t dicta's are not hard to find.

oh, I misread your post, you can buy new shimano coaster hub sprockets in just about any size tou want from 16t to 24t

dont have any close up pice, but i can tell you that the original stickers on the bike were GT stickers, and it was originally gold. had chequer
stickers in several places and a GT sticker on the seat tube.

tried the address on the magnet and it looks like the site was taken down. But he does do mail order or phone stuff. Give him a call and see what he
has for you, chances are if he doesn't have it, he will know where to get it from. I even saw him pull out from his piles of gear a box of those
old solid steel front wheels for a tricycle one day!!
