Bad news , Good news!!!

After the Bulli show and rather steep decent i ruined my drums. Having overtightened the wheelnuts the worn drums distorted . I have had to replace them all and finish the job off this w'end. Lots of $'s spent !!!Thats the bad news!
Good news is that i got to spend an hour or 2 with the car on ramps. My 67 has never been welded in it's life and with a w'ends work could almost pass as new. How chuffed am i ! I've also had the chance to totally degrese the motor and trans area's with a high pressure steam gun! Apart from a rear quater panel repair back in 1975 (documented!) the car has never been sprayed and the paintwork has come up good after many w'ends worth of paint restoration.
Although far from where i want it to be and the fact it's costing me an arm and a leg i reckon it's well worth it as i just love driving my bug around. Can't wait for the Nats and i'm slipping on the 135 fronts tomorrow in ready for the show. VW's , gotta luv em!

Well, that's a lot more good news than bad news in my book. You can always (almost; except for early buses) get fresh drums, but a nice straight body and pan is much more valuable.

Good to hear.
