Thank you for your help so far.
I replaced tools last year, and he has a big shed with TV and fridge already. Hes not really a combi person and he keeps telling me that the engine
transplant will be completed before the new year |

He has the shed, TV and fridge. Sounds like Off Road videos and beer is all thats required. Wrap the cans induvidually to give him plenty to unwrap
on the day.
Oh cool a beer

I suggest some of teh stuff he doesn't have
He borrows the following stuff of me :
300 mm callipers,
9" angle grinder
Ability to drive fast without rolling
So maybe you could help him out there, other useful items are :
1/4" drive socket set
timing light

How about a breadmaker brandishing a VW logo? Or a frying pan set with VW logos on the handles? Or a vacuum cleaner appearantly made by VW?
These are probably some of the things on my wife's gift list for what she's getting me...
I can send you a couple of VW logos, then just stick them on whatever will get you the most household productivity out of him. Remember, it's
better to give than to receive, if you give the thing you'll get the most use from...

hehehe
Hows about you take a posed photo of the baja in a nice setting, get it enlarged, stuck in a nice frame ? ? Always a good idea.
Of course, individually wrapped beer is a bloody good idea too !!

a lil suggestion...
hey bajawes_ette,
have you thought about a coupla vw books to sit on the coffee table at home? even if he's not a big reader.. the pictures are worth it! recommended read - evolution of the vw beetle, not a massive book, but a cool
read for any vw enthusiast.
good luck! :sandrine
Yianni.

Okay - you've all been a big help with the ideas. My next question is (keeping in mind that I am a clueless female ) where is a good place (I mean as well as than Micks Motors) to get this
items.
I do like the sound of the tools, books and videos (even though he does have a well stocked library that I so nicely indexed for him last year) but
what is good. Should I consider a gift voucher? |
