ghia colour
Dave
I believe this is Manilla Yellow. Have to look through a couple of books to get the code.
I am pulling my 52k mile '63 ghia apart at the moment for a respray - I think it will be Manilla Yellow/Black or Pampas Green/white.
The roof may be either black (L41) or Anthracite.

Dave
The code for Manilla Yellow is L560. I have a colour chart for Karmann Ghias dated "1962/63" on the front. It lists the contrast roof colour as
code 582. There is no 'L' as normal for codes.
The roof colour is therefore not Anthracite (L469), it looks more like the black. The chart I have shows it as almost, but not quite the L41 black.
It must have a tint of something to just take it away from black.
Hope this helps, although it may just confuse. There was an article in VW Trends I think a couple of years ago about a low mileage manilla yellow
ghia in Ohio, US. It was restored by a guy called Mark Schlacter, who is a bit of a VW guru in the area. He has a Hebmuller, early cabs etc. deals
in VWs and Porsches.
Cheers, Angus
