Depends on whether you're doing the welding. You could easy spend another $20K to get it up to speed. If you can weld and paint, another $10K would
get you close, maybe. In restored condition it would be a desireable thing. Unless you love a challenge you'd be better off buying one done. I'm no
expert but seeing no one else was responding and you need an answer, I can only comment knowing what I've spent on mine. Good luck if you're having
a go.

thanks 65busser has just restored modified a beetle and was woundering if the price was all right and not to expencive for a starter .was one on this
site for about the same price with out engine so it must be a fair price
