need help with ej20t conversion

Hey, i am from perth and am planning on putting an ej20t into my 71superbug. i am however having trouble finding an adaptor kit for this engine. the only places i have found that do them are in the eastern states.

are there any places in perth that do these adaptor kits?

and also the engine is about 197hp so i figure i will need to get a new gearbox. wat gearbox would be most suited for this application. it would need to be able to handle more than 200hp because after the installation i also plan on beefing up the engine.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Anthony

Yes I have stock for auto boxes can do the turbo ones as well , this I do a run and it is based at the time on numbers more I get the cheaper it is .

You need to have a look back at a few posts as there is some related subjects to what you are doing .

I am about to do the same build mates car so you may wish to see that as it goes .But I will be using a R30 box Renault close ratio around 5k for the box .
I have seen this box blown up as well with that HP but off road racing .There is Choper over here in Perth has the rs2ltr in his notch runs at the drags its red .fast as but has a swing axel if I recall usa diff $$$$ ,I think he has blown it up not sure ,but there is problems with the irs bushes with wheel tramp ,I will be doing an A arm conversion .any way have a read . seagull

I've bought the EJ20T conversion kits from both Sherman and Bill Croft at Unicap . Both are in Australia.

The renault truck gear box seams to the go but a mile apart with some of the gears .

I have heard good things about unicap and Volks conversions adaptors. I have a john sherman adaptor myself.
As far as g/boxes go you could build a bus or bug box to handle the power but it's going to cost $$$.
Try these guys. They do custom gear sets and super diffs (I think).

just remember the more power you want the more it costs. Thats why I put an NA ej25 in my buggy.;)

Choppas Notch (12 second road car that gets 45mpg!) runs an IRS rear, no axle tramp issues, but no traction either!
He did blow the stock ratio box (TRANSFORM built) after 5 years of abuse, he rebuilt it himself (first time evr inside a transaxle), works ok if a little noisy! Looking at getting a box from RANCHO now to replace it....Way cheaper that getting something built here....Like $700 US....Look at about $1600 US deivered!

no thats $350.00 to get orig ecu sorted out * stand alone * or the after market units are any where from $1000.00 > $2500.00 + Then you need to wire the motor ect .
I use the stock one and send them to QLD .

So far I have been looking for a bulk buy at a good cost so if you are in a hurry you may wish to ask around your self .seagull
