Subie ER27 Engine?

Can anyone tell me what this engine is like and wether it would be a good conversion for my 1990 Syncro?
Thanks,
Andy.

2.7lt flat six. Would be a tight squeeze but I have heard of people doing it before.

Been done loads of times......But I wouldn't recommend the engine as it is very old technology and is based on the old EA81 engine, hence no CW crank and very low power for the hassle. Something like 120hp....Not much for the effort.

A better option is the current EJ30 (230 hp I think) or the early ninties EJ33 (240hp). And both have loads of torque....In the region of 300nM!!!! Or about the same as 350 Chev!

Now I am currently doing a 3.3 conversion in my bus and I can tell you it is a VERY large engine!!!!!
The current model 3.0 is a better option, makes the same power as the 3.3 and is only about 40mm longer at the crank than an EJ20!

No contest....Go the 3.0

VERY slow.....Have the engine in, but no time or bucks to finish the mount, exhaust or coolant system....Fortunately I have been given a load of stuff from my FLVWS, so maybe over the UNI holidays I can get something done.....Maybe!
Though I think the wife has a few chores lined up to do!
